An IDC report revealed that PC sales fell by 14% worldwide in the first quarter of 2013, the biggest drop since records began in 1994. As many consumers plump for a portable touchscreen device over a laptop, shipments of tablets in the same period rose by 117% compared to last year, hitting an all-time high of 40.6 million units.

During the second week of April a brute force attack was launched on WordPress websites around the globe, attempting to log in using a default username and thousands of passwords across 90,000 IP addresses. The purpose of the attack is still unknown, but some are suggesting it may be a dummy run for something even larger in the near future. In the midst of all the Google Glass news, Samsung,Microsoft, and “China’s Google” Baidu are said to be working on smart glasses as well. Meanwhile following the Apple iWatch rumors, the word is we may also see smart watches from Google, Microsoft, LG and Samsung. It certainly looks like wearable tech is going to be big in the next few years.

With the next WWDC confirmed for June 10th-14th, gossip is heating up about new Apple goodies like iOS 7, iPhone 5S/6, iPad 5, and possibly a Retina iPad mini. However, recent comments made to Wall Street analysts by Tim Cook offer some hints toward the real Apple product roadmap through 2014.

It sounds like the stuff of Science-Fiction, but students and researchers at UC Berkeley demonstrated how cheap, off-the-shelf brainwave sensors have the potential to render typed passwords obsolete.
